The Atmedia sales house is expanding its partnership with AMCNI CNE television group. As of 1st March 2023, it will commercially represent the lifestyle and entertainment TV channel Spektrum Home on the Czech market, which will complement other thematic TV channels in the atmax, atadults and atchoice sales packages. From the same date, viewers will also be able to tune into Spektrum Home as part of the digital terrestrial broadcasting. The TV channel is also involved in the official electronic TV viewership measurement.

“We have been cooperating with the AMC television group since 2008, i.e. from the very beginning of the Atmedia media representation on the Czech market. It was the very first television group with which we established cooperation at the time, on the basis of which we began to build the market of thematic TV channels in our country. The expansion of our portfolio with Spektrum Home at the beginning of March confirms the success of this long-term partnership,” says Michaela Suráková, Managing Director of Atmedia. ”With its focus on DIY, gardening, architecture or interior design, it brings interesting advertising options for TV advertisers – for example, connecting the brand with these topics, or addressing attractive target groups of viewers,” she adds.

The First Free-to-Air AMC Group’s TV channel

Expanding the portfolio of thematic channels to include Spektrum Home will enable the Atmedia sales house to offer the TV advertisers more advertising space. “Apart from the offer of pay TV operators, the Spektrum Home TV channel will also be available as part of the terrestrial digital broadcasting. It will be the first ever from the 38 AMC TV channels that viewers will be able to watch for free,” points out Michaela Suráková and adds that thanks to this, the TV channel will reach a much larger number of viewers. Until now, viewers could tune into Spektrum Home only with pay TV operators, from the beginning of March this year it will also be broadcasted in multiplex 23, which is operated by the Czech radio communications. Up to 99 % of the Czech population will be able to tune it in.

Apart from CANAL+ Action, Spektrum Home is another TV channel that will expand Atmedia’s thematic TV channel portfolio from March 1st this year. Atmedia sales house will now be the commercial representative of 28 thematic TV channels on the Czech market, 24 of which are involved in the official electronic audience measurement. These include both Czech as well as local television channels of global brands. Movie and series TV channels do have the largest representation in the Atmedia portfolio, closely followed by documentary, lifestyle, sports, kids’ and family channels.

From the Czech TV channels to name Seznam.cz TV, Rebel, Relax and TV channels from the Czechoslovak Film Society Group (CS Film, CS History, CS Mystery). Of the multinational television groups, Atmedia cooperates with Warner Bros. Discovery (Discovery Channel, Eurosport 1, TLC), AMC (AMC, Film+, Minimax, Spektrum, Sport 1, TV Paprika, Spektrum Home), CANAL+ (FilmBox, FilmBox Stars, CANAL+ Action), Walt Disney Company (Disney Channel, National Geographic) and Antenna Group (AXN). The Slovak TV group JOJ (JOJ Family, JOJ Cinema) also has a significant position in the Atmedia portfolio.

Thematic TV channels, which are commercially represented by Atmedia on the Czech market, had a 5.1% share of viewership in the 15-69 target group last year. They reached an average of 1.4 million TV viewers aged 4+ daily, with 37% of TV viewers turning on one of them at least once a week and 58% at least once a month.[1]

DIY, Interior Design or Travel

Spektrum Home is a lifestyle and entertainment TV channel that offers its viewers a selection of movies, series and programmes dedicated to gardening, DIY, home design, architecture or travel. Popular programmes do include, for example, Gardener’s World or Architecture Interiors. In the coming months, Spektrum Home plans to expand its programming composition, for example, by the programmes Dream Home or Monty Don.
